Timezone: Pacific Standard Time
Other contact: AIM: Dragonhowl7 MSN: Preseathepup@hotmail.com
Characters already in the game: Amaterasu, Naomi, Naoto, Yuuka, and Raidou (so much estrogen)
How did you find us?: A friend a year ago now
IC:
Character name: Raimu "Rhyme" Bito
Fandom: The World Ends With You
Timeline: Post-Game (But she's coming from the SS Sif)
Age: Unknown, but believed to be between the ages of 12 and 14... let's just say 13?
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Rhyme has no notable abilities. When she was in The Reaper's Game, her abilities in the Underground were unknown as well. Considering she's alive again and coming from the Realground, she's just a normal human so... no abilities beyond extreme optimism and always being willing to help those in need.
How would they use their abilities?: To keep people happy.
Appearance: Rhyme is a pretty short and slim girl with bright blue eyes and short blonde hair. She usually wears a large black beanie with a small skull pin attacked to the right side and an oversized orange sweater with a skull (heart-shaped) and crossbones decal on the front in black with khaki shorts. Common with Square-Enix's more child-like characters, her shoes are rather over-sized and bright yellow and black in color. I'm totally being serious: Image.
Background: The youngest of the Bito household and also the calmest, Raimu or 'Rhyme' as she's most commonly called, acts as foil to her hot-headed brother Daisukenojo, or 'Beat', ever since the day she could walk. With more brawn than brains, Beat often fights with their mother and father and Rhyme quietly listens and waits to calm him down. She honestly knows there's good in him, but because of his temperament, he gets in trouble often. Unfortunately, Beat sees his sister's kind nature towards him as nothing more than pity, but that's not true.
Questions?: Nope!

It's because of this mixed personality between siblings that both come into a spot of trouble. After another argument with their parents, Beat races off into the streets of Shibuya. Being the good sister she is, Rhyme gives chase to calm her brother down and bring him home, but when she reaches the Miyashita Park Underpass, a car comes barreling towards her as she chases Beat across the road. Beat comes back, trying to knock her out of the car's way, but both siblings are hit and killed instead.
Rhyme awakens to the Underground Shibuya. See, there are two plains in Shibuya: the Realground, where living people roam and go about their daily lives, and the Underground, where a selected group of recently deceased people can complete tasks to earn the right to live again. It's officially called 'The Reaper's Game'. There's a price, however, to play The Reaper's Game. The players selected must give up what they hold most dear to them. Rhyme's price to play is her dreams and ambitions, but this goes unknown for some time. Anyway, in order to play The Reaper's Game properly, players must form pacts with other players, forming a two-man team, in order to survive the seven days.
Rhyme teams up with Beat when she finds him, but there's a small problem: She doesn't remember Beat. Beat's price for The Reaper's Game was Rhyme's memories and love for him. It's not to say she doesn't truly remember having a brother because she does; her loss of memories just keeps her from connecting that Beat is her brother is all.

The duo only last for four days in the first week. On the fourth day, Rhyme saves Beat from getting ambushed by a Shark Noise, but at the cost of herself getting erased instead.
(Noise: The monsters of the Underground. They're attracted to those with negative emotions, but also summoned by the Reapers who run The Reaper's Game. They can only be erased by players who have formed pacts.
Erase(d): The term used in the Reaper's Game when a Player, Noise, etc., is defeated and 'dies' in the Underground. They turn into static and fade from existence. However, a Player that is erased can be brought back to life, but they will not regain their entry fee.
Pin(s): One of the many ways to fight in the Underground. The character the player mainly plays {Neku} uses pins in combat the noise with his various partners. Pins allow Neku to use Psychs or psychic attacks which can be melee, ranged, neutral, or fixed.)
For the rest of the Game (that being 'The World Ends With You' and not just The Reaper's Game), Rhyme is turned into a pink squirrel noise and remains by Beat's side until the Third Week when she's forcibly turned into a Pin by the Reaper running the game. She's only lucky to be brought back to life after Neku confronts the Composer, convincing him that Shibuya can indeed change and didn't need to be destroyed.
Personality: As mentioned in the background, Rhyme is Beat's foil. While Beat is loud, cocky, and aggressive, Rhyme is the opposite: soft-spoken, modest, and passive. She has the patience of a saint (rarely becoming even frustrated) and a big heart, usually seeing the good in others no matter how small it is. That might make her considerably gullible, but she does have the smarts to keep herself generally safe. Rhyme always has some adage to say in bad situations and lives for her dreams and ambitions. It's sad to say her past dreams were lost due to The Reaper's Game, but fortunately, her optimism keeps her going. She can just make new dreams after all.
For applicants considering an alternate version of a character already in game, please use this as your chance to explain the key differences between your character and the one already in play: No other Rhyme currently in game.
Have you read up on how the game works?: Yes I have! Well, I've been here long enough actually. Guide plug-in is the FlamingFerret; money can be earned, stolen, or mooched; and Vogons always seem to be in a bad mood, but they just follow the rules all the time.
1st person sample:
[The video feed begins once again in the new arrivals area. There's a small girl at the desk, listening to the Vogon quietly and filling out her paperwork]
Okay, all done.
Very good. Now take your stuff and get out.
Alright. Thank you for the guide and towel.
[Weird kid is thanking the Vogon... Oh well, she picks up the guide and her towel covered in skulls with heart-shaped eye sockets. She walks a little ways away before sitting down on a bench and smiling at the screen] It was a few months ago, but hello again! I think Beat is still on the SS Sif if you're looking for him, but he'll show up soon enough. We just have to be patient.

Rhyme had come to notice the SS Sif and the SS Thor were different in several ways. One was obviously the abundance of parks on the Thor as compared to the Sif, but another was how polite most of the aliens seemed. On the SS Sif, the Purists had been more active. Well, probably just because gaining more support on a newer ship was easier as compared to an older one. She had never had a problem with the Purists though; it was probably because she followed the Golden Rule: 'Do unto others as you would have them do to you.' Sure, not all aliens followed it, but just because a few were rude didn't mean she was going to act any differently to them.
"Hey, you! Refugee worker!"
She blinked and turned, hurrying over to her boss. She smiled, "Yes?"
"Need you to deliver this box..." The old alien nudged a large, but fairly light package towards her with his foot. There was probably no need for this size packaging, but again, Rhyme didn't complain. She nodded and picked up the box, smiling the whole time. This was probably on purpose because she was a refugee, but she just ignored that. A job was a job and ultimately doing a good job was the point.
